ICE CASTLES IN NEW BRIGHTON, MN
New Brighton, Minnesota| January 3, 2022 – The wait will soon be over for the return of one of Minnesota’s most popular winter attractions. Ice Castles at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton, Minnesota will open to the public on January 7, 2022, after a year away due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets will go on sale on the company’s website Wednesday morning.
Ice artisans in New Brighton are working around the clock to get the attraction ready for Friday’s grand opening. The acre-sized interactive experience will feature ice-carved tunnels, fountains, slides, frozen thrones, and cascading towers of ice embedded with color-changing LED lights. NEW this winter, Ice Castles guests can also enjoy a short walk through a forest light grove and an ice sculpture garden.
Artisans have spent the last 8 weeks growing, harvesting, and hand-placing icicles to create the life-size fairytale playground.
This is the second season Ice Castles has built in New Brighton and its seventh year in Minnesota. However, the Utah-based company behind the attraction did not have a Minnesota castle last winter due to the pandemic. The icy kingdom in New Brighton, is one of five Ice Castles locations in the United States, and the first one to open this winter. Other locations in Utah, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and New York are expected to open in the coming weeks.

About Ice Castles: Ice Castles has been bringing fairy tales to life since its inception in 2011. Founder, Brent Christensen, developed the patented process used to create Ice Castles while attempting to build a winter playground for his kids in the front yard of their home in Alpine, Utah. The project drew crowds who came out to tour Christensen’s frozen creation. Ice Castles has since turned into an internationally renowned tourist attraction with six locations across North America and growing.
