It's National Library Week April 3 to 9, and we thought we'd take the opportunity to highlight some of the more unique items the Scott County Library has available to check out ... other than books!
The Scott County Library’s seven buildings and Readmobile welcome kids and families for FREE books, learning, and fun! Check our website at www.scottlib.org for information on locations and hours, getting your library card, and events and programs.
At Scott County Library you can find:
Here are three of our favorite things for families right now:
- Table-top Games: This is a brand-new collection of both family and adult games – take a look at the list here and pick some to check out and bring home!
- Early Literacy Events: We are delighted to be welcoming families back to these in-person programs that use the five early literacy practices of Talk, Read, Write, Sing, & Play to help littles develop pre-reading skills. The schedule of both group classes/storytimes and single-household Story Stations programs is here.
- Take Home Play Kits: Do your indoor activities need a refresh? Check out these kits that feature learning toys, books, and early literacy tips. They come in two versions, Take Home Play Kits for 3-6 year olds and Take Home Play Kit Jr for under 3. Visit your library and look for the clear bags with blue trim or view the list here.
The library, of course, also has plenty more to discover, from books to DVDs to regular events like Hands On Classes and Family Fun Spot Activities. You can always find all Scott County Library events on our Macaroni KID - Shakopee Events Calendar!
Stop by your nearest Scott County Library during National Library Week and explore! What interesting thing can you find?
